Restored and Renewed at Rossnowlagh!
Our weekend in Rossnowlagh was something very special. Rainbows, beach walks, delicious food, anointed worship and ministry, great food and great craic! Over 60 folk came together from several different apostolic and local churches to join with us. Our theme was restoration and renewal and both Sam Hagan from the House of Prayer movement and Ps Jim Vance ministered on what it meant to wait on God and move in the anointing of His Spirit. Sam's teaching session on Waiting on the Lord is now a podcast on this site. A big thankyou to Ros and Simon our hosts who looked after us so well.
We have secured a weekend in September next year to return and folk have been looking to book already! Taking the 'Church' out of Derry and into Donegal was significant on many levels. We thank God for the teaching, truths and traditions that previous generations have left us, but the apostolic church that Jesus is building is first of all a body, a community of worshippers. 'Church' in our culture has come to mean the building or denomination a person attends. Life as a Christian can for many appear simply as a series of church meetings. We are called to a level of communion and fellowship with each other that goes much deeper and indeed the strength of our communion with Christ is revealed by our fellowship with His body, His Church.
Time spent living with each other deepens our experience of what it means to be in loving relationships. Another great blessing of stepping out away from home, was the opportunity to connect with other believers from the local area and beyond. Our vision at River City Church is to be a blessing and a resource to the body of Christ, to bring encouragement and strength to other churches and to be built up as we learn from and serve other groups. The Lord is building His Kingdom in Ireland and each of us are called to see that greater vision. Even the beauty of Donegal cannot match the glory of His Church.
