Missions

Just before Jesus ascended into heaven, He commissioned His disciples to go into all the world starting at home and then abroad, to preach the good news.

He told his disciples that through the power of the Holy Spirit they would be witnesses to Him starting at home and spreading out to the ends of the earth. That same call, to go and tell others the greatest message on earth, has been heard and followed by His disciples down through the ages and our mission work too covers both home and abroad. Over the last four years a team have travelled to a village in South Wales where we have supported another apostolic church establish a community youth work.

These teams have been made up mainly of young people and the experience of preparing through prayer and training for these missions and then stepping out in faith and seeing God answer their prayers have had a profound influence on their faith.

This year a River City mission team travelled to Malawi to help with the work of the apostolic church there. For years local believers have met each month to pray for Malawi and raise funds for the work of the church there. To be able to send a team to this nation was a great blessing and privilege for all concerned

How then shall they call on Him. in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!”

Romans 10.v14,15.
